Conference Announcement & Call for Papers
The 4th Asia-Pacific DHI Software Conference will be held in Shanghai November 15-17th, 2006. DHI Software Conferences are the perfect venue for learning about real-world applications of DHI Software and for exchange of experience with colleagues and DHI experts within marine, water resources and urban modelling. Building upon the three successful conferences in Bangkok 2002, Sydney 2003, and in Kuala Lumpur 2005 will put even more emphasis on practical applications of the DHI Software modelling tools.
The conference enables you to exchange experience within the fields of:
    • Water resource management and planning
    • Flooding management and control;
    • Urban water management;
    • Coastal and marine projects;
    • Water modelling skill and experiences.
Request for Papers:
Users, who wish to share their experience of DHI Software applications with their colleagues from all over the world, are therefore invited to submit an abstract.
Users, who get their abstracts accepted, will be encouraged to produce full papers for the conference Proceedings.
The requirements are:
    • Abstract/summary of paper (maximum 500 words);
    • Abstracts edited with MS Word should include following information:
        o Title (and subtitle)
        o Author(s) (the first three authors listed, if more than three)
        o company(s) of author(s)
        o key words
    • electronic file required;
    • ppt file would be required, after abstract/summary has been accepted by conference organizer;
Language:
The Conference will be conducted in English and Chinese. Translation will be provided.
Important Dates:
    • Early-bird registration: Until 30 April, 2006 will receive a 20% discount of registration fee and/or three or more registrations from the same company;
    • last date of abstract/summary of paper submission: 31 July, 2006
    • last date of ppt presentation files submission: 15 September, 2006;
    • last date of conference registration: 15 October, 2006
Other information:
    • Conference venue and accommodation: 4 or 5-star hotel in Shanghai. Venue place to be announced;
    • Conference registration fee: 200 USD or CNY 1,600 for each delegate, which includes meeting material, lunch, dinner,      cocktail/banquet, and event during the conference. Personal transportation and hotel expenses are not included;
    • Conference will organize field study tours for delegates after the three-day event, and the proposed options of the field study tours are:
Option A: Three Gorge hydraulic engineering of Yangtze River (proposed 5-days trip, Shanghai return at about CNY 4,400);
Option B: Xiao Langdi hydraulic engineering of Yellow River (proposed 2-days trip, Shanghai return at about CNY 2,800).
